Morgantown Newborn Session

Your Studio Newborn Session

You’ve waited so long for your precious baby and now they’ll be here before you know it. You want to remember those little fingers, their tiny nose, all of the beautiful features that will change ever so quickly. We hear all the time “It goes so fast”, but we really don’t understand that until we have our own children. Then, that first month passes and it’s time to pull out your phone for their one month documentation for social media. *Cue all the feelings* This is when it hits, hard. “They’ve already grown so much, I can’t believe it’s been one month already!”.

That’s where I come in! As a mom myself, I understand wanting to remember the smallest details, the way you hold your baby and just stare at them in amazement, and the way you and your significant other grow into parenthood. Seeing your SO with your baby, well that’s a gift all in itself.

The Process

Your newborn session with me is an experience like no other. I pride myself on great communication and assisting you each step of the way to make this simple and uncomplicated for you (I mean, you have enough going on!).

First, we reserve your date. We use your due date to get you on the calendar since I have a limited number of sessions I accept each month (and book out months in advance). To reserve your date, I require a signed contract and the session fee. Once those have been taken care of, you’re on the calendar and now part of the Wood and Lace family.

Second, you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy knowing you’ve checked that off your list.

Third, once you’re safely home, we will discuss your exact date to come into the studio, wardrobe, and the color choices for your baby’s solo portion setups. I have dresses you can borrow for your session that are timeless and perfect for postpartum. If you prefer something of your own, I’m still here for you. I want you to feel your best!

I will send you a prep guide to ensure the session goes smoothly.

Upon arrival at the studio, I will have your session ready to go. All of the beautiful custom setups for the baby will be there waiting so I can get to work. You’re welcome to sit back and relax, I know much that’s needed.

Once the solo portion of the baby is complete, we will begin the family portion. I will help you through this entirely, guiding you each and every step.

Our session could take up to about 3 hours. I do not ever rush as I know your baby is not like any other baby. If they need to feed, settle, etc we will take the time to do so.

Within one week (not including weekends), you will have your proof gallery. This is where you choose products you would like to purchase and the photos you want the master edit completed for your final gallery. This is done online or we can meet back at the studio if you prefer. Once your order is finished, I will add the master edit to each image purchased, order your products, and deliver final digital gallery in 2 weeks.

If you need help to know which sizes work best for your space, what frames complement your home and the photograph, I am here to help!

I will care for your baby as if they were my own. I understand being a new parent and trusting someone can be difficult. I have had extensive trainings for proper newborn posing and continue my trainings consistently.

WELCOME

“Our family is just the right mix of chaos and love.”

Hello! I’m Shannon, the gal behind Wood and Lace. I am a full time professional photographer. When I’m not behind the camera, I am editing, working on the back end (website, marketing, etc), taking new courses to continue to grow my craft, and then all of the mom things after work is over the day. They say if you do something you love that you will never work a day in your life… I beg to differ. When you love what you do, you will work harder than you ever have in your life. The only difference is that it will feel all of the hard work is worth it.
