What is Boutique Photography?

I’m sure you’ve heard of boutiques, but a boutique photographer? What’s that, right? Well, I’m going to tell you, at least my version.

I’m sure you’re familiar with the “shoot and burn” model. That’s where you meet up with a photographer, they take your pictures, send them over, and that’s that. They usually have clients back to back and your time is your time, nothing more. Want products? If you’re lucky, they’ll have some stuff available for you to sift through on your gallery, but otherwise, you’re on your own. Which, typically means you either don’t print or you get something you think is amazing simply because you weren’t shown anything actually astounding.

Others may do things differently, so I will tell you how my studio runs.

I accept a limited number of sessions month so that each client gets the service they deserve. This means, when you are at the studio for your session, it is your day. There isn’t anyone waiting for you to finish, no rushing.

High quality products are shown to you, offered, but never required.

When we sit down together, I am there to assist you, to get what you want, whatever that is.

By having a professional by your side the whole time, I can help you many ways you may not even think. It’s kinda like sitting down with a friend, you telling that friend what you want, and that friend says ok, let’s do it!

This is also where we can discuss things you may want edited (usually postpartum bellies).

What all of this boils down to, I want you to have what you want. Nothing more, sincerely. You deserve to have beautiful photos, without being rushed, while baby is being safely and properly handled, and the option to get exactly what you’re looking for.

I will not rush your gallery, your photos will be stunning, just like you came to me for. Each image is digitally hand-painted in photoshop with my unique formula to get a look you won’t get anywhere else.

Focusing on longevity rather than what’s “in”. You don’t want to cringe in 3 years when your photos are out of style and you’re ready to put them away. You want to proudly display them forever, so you want something timeless.

Isn’t that what a service provider should do, after all?

WELCOME

Hello! I’m Shannon, the gal behind Wood and Lace. I am a full time professional photographer. When I’m not behind the camera, I am editing, working on the back end (website, marketing, etc), taking new courses to continue to grow my craft, and then all of the mom things after work is over the day. They say if you do something you love that you will never work a day in your life… I beg to differ. When you love what you do, you will work harder than you ever have in your life. The only difference is that it will feel all of the hard work is worth it.
