Newborn Frequently Asked Questions

Newborn Photography FAQs

The goal is to make sure you’re as prepared as can be and have all of the info you’ll need. If you have other questions, reach out and I will be happy to answer anything! Here are some of the questions I’m asked most often.

How do I pre-book when I'm not sure when baby will come?

We use your due date as a holding spot for pre-booking, this ensures you a spot on my calendar. Since birth and postnatal care can be unpredictable, this approach helps minimize reschedules. Once mom and baby are home, you let me know, and we will set the exact date.

Can I add hair and makeup?

You don’t have to! It’s complementary with every maternity and newborn session! She will come to the studio and make you feel like the best version of yourself (and not exhausted!). This will alleviate the stress of trying to get everyone ready after just having a baby.

What do we bring?

Baby and milk! I have all of the props, blankets, headbands, bonnets, wraps (swaddles), etc to make your session a success! There is even a stocked changing table for your convenience!

How do we choose our images?

We will meet up in the studio or on Zoom for you to choose your photos. Clients love having someone there to help them choose their finals so they get amazing variety! This process is very simple and laid-back.

When do sessions take place?

Sessions are held in studio Monday – Friday at 10 am for newborn sessions.

Can my older kids be included?

Of course! For the family newborn sessions, please bring your kids! We absolutely need to get some new family portraits!

What if my baby has acne?

Most babies do have acne to some extent! No worries, I’ll take care of it! You’ll never know it was there!

What if my baby uses the bathroom on your stuff?

Again, no worries! Your baby wouldn’t be the first and won’t be the last! That’s what washers are for!

What if my baby doesn't cooperate?

The good news is, your session day is your day. I schedule one session per day so that you never have to feel rushed. We are on baby’s time and will go at their pace. Sessions are not timed, though generally a petite newborn session is around 1 hour and a family newborn session is around 2 hours.

Do you take payment plans?

Absolutely! Every single person deserves to have beautiful, safe memories with/of their babies!
