FAQ

I wanted to give you an area that I could try to answer as many of your questions as I could. I hope this helps to answer any question you may have, but if you still have any questions, please feel free to reach out and ask me!

What Do I Need to Bring?

For newborn sessions, absolutely nothing except milk! I provide everything needed to make your newborn session a success!

How Long Does the Session Take?

This will vary based on the package you choose and the cooperation of your baby. A guideline would be 45 minutes for a baby solo session and 2 hours for a family newborn session. Again, this all depends on how the baby is. This could be longer or shorter.

When Should I Schedule?

I recommend booking in your second trimester as I do book up quickly. This allows you to be clear from the first trimester and you’re not hoping that I will have a last minute opening.

What Happens After my Session?

Following your session, I will send you a proofing gallery. This is usually sent within one week of your session. This is where you select the images you would like in your final gallery. I’ll edit your selections then send over your final gallery. From there you will be able to download, share, and print. We can also set up time to order professional products to get the most from your session.

What’s “normal” During a Session?

You’re probably thinking, “What if my baby uses the bathroom while she’s working with him/her?!”… Well, it wouldn’t be the first time and definitely won’t the last either. There may be some time during the session that they don’t want to sleep and we just have to roll with that to get the cute awake shots. You may also need to feed baby more than usual, that’s totally normal. They’re working hard!

What if My Baby Has Acne?

Babies have acne and flaky skin, it’s a given. This is something I will fix, while still looking natural on every baby. I understand wanting the adorable photos of your baby, don’t let this keep you from it! You’ll never know it was there!

Hello! I’m Shannon, the gal behind Wood and Lace. I am a full time professional photographer. When I’m not behind the camera, I am editing, working on the back end (website, marketing, etc), taking new courses to continue to grow my craft, and then all of the mom things after work is over the day. They say if you do something you love that you will never work a day in your life… I beg to differ. When you love what you do, you will work harder than you ever have in your life. The only difference is that it will feel all of the hard work is worth it.
